Being a tad under the weather today I took the time to catch up on some of my favorite podcasts. The podcasts on the TWiT network are hands down my favorite. I listen to This Week In Tech, MacBreak Weekly, and Windows Weekly, all three almost religiously. On the most recent This Week in Tech podcast (#122), the guys were talking about the lack of excitement this holiday season in terms of gadgets. There aren’t any big releases right at the holiday time as there were last year.
I guess last year the big news was the Nintendo Wii’s release right at about this time. In fact, yesterday was the Wii’s first birthday (in the USA). Happy bithday to you Nintendo Wii! Aside from the Wii, there were other big releases last year like the Playstation 3, which released on November 11th, and I’m sure that what with Vista’s impending release in January of 2007, new computers were on everyone’s holiday shopping list!
So I got to thinking. What gadgets, devices, and technology am I excited about that was released in 2007. So I decided to come up with my own “Hot and Cold List of 2007 Technology.” I will add to these lists as items come to me.
Technology/Gadgets That are Hot
Technology/Gadgets That are Cold
Well, that’s all I have for the two lists for now. However, return soon as I hope to post updates to the list every so often through the end of the year. Also, feel free to post your own ideas in the comments for 2007 hot/cold gadgetry and technology.

A new iPod is sounding more and more interesting to me right now. I suppose it would go on my hot items list.
I would also disagree with the iPhone on the cold list. It was just named Time’s Device of the Year.

@Mizidy - yeah, the iPhone was named Time’s device of the year, but then who is Time anyway? All joking aside, I don’t like some of the things that Apple has done with the iPhone - updates that brick it, trying to stem the tide of people unlocking it and adding their own third party apps, and also not supporting 802.11x authentication for wireless….
