Some of you may have already heard, but the co-creator of the Dungeons and Dragons role playing game, passed away yesterday. He had been suffereing from “poor health,” it sounds like. My thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out to his family.
I play D&D every thursday night with a group of friends from the Iowa City area. We get together after work, order some food, drink a few beers, and play D&D until about 9:45-10:00 PM. It’s a lot of fun and a really good creative outlet. So, it came as no surprise to me when several of my friends emailed, called, or messaged me via instant messenger yesterday to pass along the news.Â
I also had a chance to read through several message board threads at Wizards of the Coast (the company who currently produces the D&D game) with people sharing their stories of having met the man who co-created the table-top RPG. Some were really quite moving.
