I’ve been playing around with Google Alerts recently. One of the alerts that I set up was a Google Blog search for the URL of this blog. So I subscribed to the alert in Google Reader and lately, I’ve seen some interesting things there (click the picture for a full size version)…

I have to admit that I figured it to be a normal trackback notification.  However, I noticed the same notification didn’t appear in my WordPress admin dashboard view.  I then read the text of the “trackback” a little bit closer.  A total stranger seemed to be really interested in my family’s visit to Chicago for Thanksgiving this year.  That also seemed a little bit off.  Then I discovered this article.  It seems this type of Spam is on the rise.

It was interesting to me, though, because I’ve never seen this type of Spam before.  What do you guys do to fight Spam on your blogs?
